Today in class we started off with a review of heating curves and how one could read them to determine the milting/freezing point of a substance, as well as its heat of fusion heat of vaporization, and specific heat. Afterwards the student's completed a self reflection on the Cheap Chalk project to help them analyze their own work, the project as a whole, and how their group functioned as a unit. This data will be used along with other measures to account for group members not contributing equally to their team effort,
After the self reflection, the students watched a short clip from Khan Academy (Link is available on Google Classroom) about phase diagrams and how they can be used to determine information about phases and phase changes of a substance. To check for their understanding of the material, the students then works to complete a number of questions with the aid of a phase diagram. If students did not finish these questions in class, they need to do so for homework.
HW: Complete phase diagram questions from class if you did not finish.
